Verbier ski pass guide - Welcome to the world famous 4 Vallées - the greatest connected ski area in the whole of Switzerland boasting over 400km of pistes waiting for you to explore.

The area is ideal for all levels of skiers: beginners will enjoy the gentle slopes especially in the resort, while experts can let themselves go on the runs as well as on legendary signposted freeride itineraries.

Two main passes

There are two principal types of ski pass to choose from:

  1. 4Vallées ski pass - access to the entire four neighbouring valleys, featuring 410 km of pistes. Access to the highest peak Mont-Fort (3,330 m) as well as Nendaz, Veysonnaz, Thyon and the area covered by the Verbier pass.

  2. Verbier valley ski pass - a cheaper local area pass, providing access to 200km of pistes, perfect for beginners. Good for visits up to 2-3 days. Includes access to Bruson, Savoleyres, La Tzoumaz, Tortin and Verbier.

Online Discount - Buy passes online for the best deals. Get 10% off 4 if you purchase your pass 10 days in advance.

Group Discount - For group bookings of 15 or more, take advantage of a 15% discount when purchasing passes (same area, dates and days). Contact the ski pass offices directly to make your booking.

Beginner Ski Passes - There are a range of zones across the 4 Vallées perfect for beginners and those who want to improve their skills. There are two dedicated beginner ski areas in Verbier Les Moulins and Les Esserts as well as an additional nursery slope in La Tzoumaz. There are discounted beginner lift tickets available which can be purchased from the ski pass offices or they are also available for purchase at the beginner ski areas. Access to the Les Esserts ski area and the magic carpet is free.

Ski For Free

Under 5 & Over 77 - Children under 5 & Seniors above 77 can ski for free! Click here for more information.

Les Esserts - Perfect for absolute beginners, the largest beginner area in 4 Vallées has gradients ranging from flat gently sloping. The magic carpet in Les Esserts is free of charge.

Cross-country Skiing - The cross-country skiing trails are free to use. Choose from four serene courses ranging from 2.5km to 6km long in the Verbier and Val de Bagnes region.

Ski Touring - No need purchase a pass to ski on the slopes if you are out on tour. With the skins on your feet, the Vallées are your oyster. Follow signposted routes or explore the wilderness with a mountain guide!

Le Rouge - Good for a few warm up runs in resort. Take the free Verbier bus up to Carrefour and ski down Le Rouge to the Brunet bus station where the Carrefour bus can be taken back up to the top of the run.

What is covered in this pass?

This pass covers the entire ski area totalling an incredible 410km. Spanning 90 Lifts, all the backcountry terrain you could desire and the 360 degree panoramic view from the highest ski lift in the area, Mont Fort at 3300m. The area stretches across 4 valleys with 6 interconnecting resorts of Verbier, La Tzoumaz, Nendaz, Veysonnaz, Thyon and Bruson.

Is this the right pass for me?

This pass is a must for intermediate to advanced skiers looking to take advantage of the variety of terrain but there is always something for everyone whatever your skill and ski style. A great chance to practice your recently honed skills. If you wish to head to the top of Mont Fort, which offers a panoramic view over the Matterhorn and the Mont-Blanc range, this is also the pass for you.

What is covered in this pass?

This pass covers the ski area directly neighbouring Verbier resort. It includes Tortin, La Chaux and the Savoleyres and Bruson areas but does not include Mont Fort. Has a variety of options for all levels including challenging, off-piste and snow parks.

Is this the right pass for me?

The Verbier Ski Pass is perfect as a day pass or for a weekend break when you want to keep things simple. It is great for beginners and intermediates who can take their time on the gentle and wide nursery slopes/blue runs. But that doesn’t mean it won’t cater to all levels - there are some 7 black and 10 red pistes as well as iconic off-piste trails, a snow park at La Chaux, Savoleyres and Bruson. Bear in mind that if you buying a lift ticket for 7 days or more you automatically get upgraded to a 4Vallées pass at no extra cost.

Annual passes

Verbier annual pass costs CHF1449 (Early-bird price 1249.- [offer ends 30/09/24])

The ultimate pass. An annual pass provides unlimited access to the whole of the 4 Valleés. The season pass is available for adults only. For children and young adults between the ages of 7-24, see the Mont 4 Card below.

HALF-YEAR PASS

The half yearly pass starts on 1st February to grant you access to the most extensive ski area in Switzerland. Take advantage of the 410 km of slopes. Make the most of the breathtaking panoramic views from the multiple must-visit peaks from Feb 1st onwards!

 

Mont 4 Card (7-24yrs)

Mont 4 Card pass costs: Young Adult* CHF600 / Child* CHF 500 (Early-bird price 400.- / 300.- [offer ends 30/11/24])

The Mont 4 Card Pass is especially catered to children and young adults from the age of 7-24 years old. The pass gives you unlimited access to the 4 Valleés ski area. Great to take advantage of this offer for the children and young adults to get more snow for a discounted price!

Pedestrian Day Passes

Don’t ski or perhaps fancy a day break from flying downhill? Not to worry - so much of Verbier 4Vallées facilities can also be accessed to hikers. Whether it be exploring with snow shoes or your favourite hiking boots, explore the incredible scenery regardless of the season and try some local delicacies on a break.

 

Pedestrian annual Passes

If you're looking to explore the stunning mountains 4Vallées all year round, regardless of whether you prefer winter or summer activities, the annual pass for pedestrians gives you unlimited access allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the breathtaking surroundings, whether you're hiking in the summer or snowshoeing in the winter.

 

Children under 5 & Seniors above 77

Free

Did you now that children born in 2018 or later and seniors born in 1947 or before can ski for free? Nevertheless, you still have to get your ski passes whether it is for Day & Multi-day passes or an annual pass. Simply input the year of birth when selecting a pass to get your free pass and be one step closer to riding the slopes! Annual ski passes are also available.

 

paragliding pass (ChAble-ruinettes)

If you're a paragliding enthusiast looking to take to the skies in Verbier, our paragliding pass (Châble-Ruinettes) is just what you need. This pass includes a single ascent for adult paragliders and participants, starting from the base of the lifts in Le Châble and taking you up to Les Ruinettes via Verbier. The 4 Vallées Club Card

Looking for an affordable way to access the entire 4 Vallées ski area? The 4 Vallées Club Card is the perfect solution! With this annual pass, enjoy exclusive rates for day passes with a minimum discount of 10% up to a maximum of 50% on the applied rate depending on the day. Plus, no more queuing for lifts – simply use your Club Card to go straight to the lifts, and your credit card will be automatically charged the amount spent. The Club Card is a great alternative to the standard annual pass, and is a must-have for ski enthusiasts looking to save money and avoid the hassle of queuing.

 
 

 

  • Your ski pass is conveniently loaded onto a chipped SmartMedia card which is also rechargeable for whenever you want to top it up. These cards are contactless so you only need to keep it in a place to easily scan at the turnstiles.

    Remember to keep the card away from mobile phones/other contactless cards which might inadvertently affect its functionality.

    These hands-free cards cost CHF 5 (not refundable).

    You can recharge your Ski Pass card when purchasing passes online by entering the card's WTP (Wireless Transaction Protocol) number. This number is visible on your card. After you've recharged your hands-free card in advance, you can generally go directly to the lifts without having to stop at the lift pass offices.

  • You can make the most of a discount by pre-purchasing your ski passes online here or you can get your ski pass directly from any of the ski pass offices in resort (Médran lift station, La Tzoumaz, Le Châble)

  • You can pre-purchase your pass online here to either be sent to your address in home in advance or you can also collect them in resort at certain ski shops or ticket offices (including at the tourist office at Le Châble train station at the bottom of the mountain (8:00 - 12:00 / 13:30-17:00).

  • Ski passes are non-transferable, non-refundable and can only be used by the named person. Please be aware that failure to comply with the Terms and Condition of the ski pass will result in fines.

    Only persons who have contracted insurance on the Verbier4Vallees.ch website or the Point of Sale shall be entitled to claim a refund of their Pass in accordance with the terms and conditions of the insurance policy.

    Weekends from the 23rd September to the 29th October, from 09:00 to 12:30 and from 13:00 to 14:30

    La Tzoumaz Ski Pass Office -

    Opening dates & times:

    Every weekend from the 21st October until the opening of the Savoleyres ski area, from 09:30 to 13:00

  • At the start of the season, the opening dates of certain facilities may be delayed depending on the snow conditions.

    At the end of the season, the closing dates of certain facilities may be brought forward depending on the snow conditions and customer demand.

    • Lac des Vaux 2 skilift and slope from 9am to 4pm

    Double check before you hit the slopes. Depending on the weather, there are occasions where some of the lifts across the 4 Valleés might be closed.

  • To “support” someone:

    • You must purchase a 2024/2025 4 Vallées annual pass.

    • You must have purchased a seasonal or annual pass from one of the 4 Vallées companies in 2022/2023 or 2023/2024. 

    • You must support a person in an equal or higher price category than your own (e.g. an adult can’t support a child, but the reverse is possible).

    To be “supported” by someone:

    • You must purchase a 2024/2025 4 Vallées annual pass.

    • You must not have purchased a mid-season, seasonal or annual pass from any of the 4 Vallées companies in 2022/2023 or 2023/2024.

    • Payment must be made in one go by the person who supports you or both passes must be purchased at the same time at the sales desk. Due to the necessary verification, these passes are not available online.

    • Holders of the Mont4Card or people who benefit from special reductions can support an adult or a senior, but are not eligible for the discount.

 

Insurance

Synonymous with other resorts across Switzerland, Europ Assistance and Groupe Burrus Courtage have set up two snow insurance products that compensate you in the case of accident.

There are two available types of insurance: Snow Assist & SkiPass Assur providing varying levels of insurance.

Insurance is available to buy at the point of purchase online or at the ski offices.
